I love coming to Doc's Beach House! Whether it's for dinner or just to grab a drink and watch the sun set, it's always a good time!
The staff is super friendly and are always very inviting, ESPECIALLY upstairs!
The pizza is amazing, making it a hot commodity so be sure to give yourself time if planning to order it.
We come here often and almost always bring any family or friends here when they come to visit! It's the perfect spot to relax! Good food, cold drinks, good people, and the beach! -

We went there because of the reputation we had heard about and were very much looking forward to it. It was NOTHING like we anticipated. When you walk in, it is extremely confusing. We weren't sure where to go. There is an upstairs and a down. I had heard they had tables on the beach, sort of, near the beach and it wasn't clear to me if you could be served a meal at them or if it was just some place to sit for a drink. We sat upstairs, so I never got that question answered. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked for mayo instead of tarter sauce and made it clear that I wanted no pickles on the plate. So the sandwich came, which was supposed to be fresh grouper, if it was, I'll eat my hat. So I pick up the bun with wilted lettuce on it only to reveal multiple pickle slices which were under the bun and laying on top of the fries. Pickle juice had dripped onto the fries and soaked into the bun, which to me, makes them inedible. To her credit, the waitress noticed me cleaning up the mess and throwing away the fries and came over and apologized and ordered fresh fries. So now I'm eating my Gorton's fish filet sandwich (which by the way, looks absolutely nothing like the main photo) with the breading that came off in one solid piece after my first bite and about halfway through finish my beer and just then she brought me a fresh basket of undercooked fries and I ordered another beer. So I finished my meal and am rather dry from eating half a sandwich and raw fries without anything to wash them down with as the second beer I ordered never materialized nor did we see hide nor hair of our waitress. So she finally shows up and asks if we want dessert. We told her no and I told her to cancel the beer, since I was done eating. She apologized and said that she had a poor memory. She insisted on bringing me a glass of water, which was actually welcome as I really did need a drink after finishing my meal dry. So she brings me the welcome grass of ice water, complete with a garnish of a bug in it. Honestly folks, I couldn't make this stuff up!
As a final note, we knew this in advance, so it was no surprise, but in this day and age, not taking credit cards is inexcusable. They are extremely fortunate to have their unique location and long tenure or this major inconvenience would put them out of business. I'm sure they won't miss me, but I won't be back.
PS, it's grossly over priced -

Feel ripped off by being overcharged for toppings. Ordered medium pizza with cheese ---and pepperoni and sausage on one half and banana peppers and tomatoes on other half. $10 extra for toppings. Toppings are $2.50 each. In reality, we had four 1/2 toppings = 2 toppings
Eaten here many times but this is not ok
Pizza was $18 for medium
Toppings were $10
We had one wine and one beer
$41.32 -

What a location! What a great place to have a meal and/or beer or wine.
Docs has been here more than 30 years and I can see why. They have a great assortment of food including a walk up take out window with off the menu items like brats, hotdogs, Italian sausage and Chicago thin pizza.
It's a great spot to plan to go to the beach as you can walk up to Docs all day and get something to eat or drink.
Super casual, super friendly service. They have several choices of seating here - inside the main dining room which is open air (and a bit warm), directly outside with a partial beach view with table service, upstairs in the sports bar (it was closed but appears to be air conditioned), or the beach front tables which don't have table service but you can get take out of anything and eat it here.
We were here Sunday morning for breakfast. I had a ham, egg and cheese on a bagel for $7.99. They have mimosas for $10. I opted for an iced tea. Hubby had fresh squeezed oj and the same sandwich which came with hash browns. The sandwich was very good although, being from NY, the bagel was like a Lenders bagel, not a NY bagel. But the sandwich was really good. The egg was over medium and gooey as requested.
I see a lot of negatives simply because they are cash only. This is stated all over the menu. Prices are extremely reasonable. There's an ATM on site. I'll be bringing my cash next weekend when I come back for a very casual, beachfront sunset dinner.
